I was up in an area called Mt. Adams that had this wonderful view of the city. It was raining, which limited the amount of photos I took, but I still enjoyed the rain immensely. (I just wish I wasn't wearing sandals- it was nice when I began my day.)

I decided to visit the art museum, as I was so near, and the weather was encouraging indoor activities. It is a very nice building, with a variety of art in it's galleries (I especially liked the weird world instruments exhibit.)

The Northside Tavern (hipster bar, that I unfortunately ended up at later in the day) and Melt, a vegetarian restraurant I savored a tastey dinner at.

I wish I had more time to spend here. Even though the croud is not what one might hope for, the open table seating, large steins of German beers, and the fact that there is constantly cheering and people getting up on the tables for one reason or another made me wish for time enough to consume one more and announce a toast from the table-top (which I did not.)

These guys talked more than played, which disappointed me a great deal.

The Lewis Brothers! These guys are fucking awesome! All three brothers on the strings switched up instruments constantly, and also threw others in the mix (at one point the harmonica was dueling an electric mandolin!). All five guys were very talented, as well as their sound guy- Thomas Dirk- who played intermissions (he belted out this amazing Etta James cover that almost made me cry like she can). The only thing that would have improved this show would have been more dancing space than the little niche I found to shake around in.

Their music broke this glass.

Yes, at the Northgate Tavern- DMF (stands for Dance Mother Fucker) The goal is "to keep Indie kids dancing". Not a fun time for me, not at all. A bunch of cooler-than-thous on drugs dancing to bad tunes. Woooo!
